ON SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE'S OSCAR SWEEP

 On behalf of the youth community of India, the Central Executive Committee of DYFI congratulate the team of 'Slumdog Millionaire' for its historic Oscar sweep at the 81st Annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles today. The film has created history for India by winning eight Oscars - the most coveted international award. The comments of the Oscar winning director Danny Boyle dedicating his award to Mumbai, in itself says everything about the Indian connection ofSlumdog Millionaire. The m,agic of A.R.Rahman's Music has transcended the borders of one country or the sub-continent. No doubt this Oscar sweep has given a new meaning to Indian film industry with an international recognition in different aspects of Acting, Music, Writing and Technical support etc. The Oscar recognition for A.R.Rahman for best music, Gulzar for best lyric and Rasool Pookkutty for best Sound Mixing prove this fact.
