Yechury addressed massive rally in Bengal

Kolkata 1st May- CPI (M) Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury called upon the people to march forward to build a ‘New India’ through forming an alternative government at the centre. He addressed a mammoth gathering in the industrial area of Raniganj in Asansol constituency this afternoon.

Speaking in Hindi, Yechury said, under two successive rule of NDA and UPA , distance between ‘Chamakta hua Bharat’ (Shining India) and ‘ Tarapta hua Bharat’ (Suffering India) has increased. Now the time has come to shift the policy orientation of the government at the centre. Already Congress and BJP has been weakened to a great extent. Their allies have left them. After the elections, there will be an alternative government at the centre which will concentrate on peoples’ welfare. The Left forcers along with others will ensure that the government will be stable with focus on peoples’ interests.

Yechury said it is because of the pressure from the Left that steps like NREGS and forest right for Adivasis have been enacted. But in general, UPA government was more concerned about the corporate sector. Now the people will give them a fitting reply.
